Pain is one of the most common complaints presented to physicians today, yet it is one of the most difficult medical problems to understand and adequately treat. Pain has been defined as "an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage."

In the acute setting, pain serves a useful purpose as a warning system of possible injury. However, it is now well accepted that pain can occur without any discernable trauma, or can persist beyond the expected healing period. Pain can cause a tremendous toll, not only in human suffering, but due to disruptions in personal and family relationships, employment and financial affairs.

Our physicians have had advanced fellowship training and are board certified or eligible in Pain Medicine. Doctor's Hompland & Olsen are actively involved in the practice of Pain Medicine and Rehabilitation. Patients with pain deserve specialists who are focused on this rapidly developing and complex field. Pain control, rather than cure, is our primary goal in treatment.

The following is a list of some of the conditions that can be successfully diagnosed and treated:

  • Back and Neck Pain
  • Headaches
